Sizing for the Perfect Fit

How can I tell if my bra isn’t fitted properly?

Problem:  Band size not right

How to check?  Lift your arms over your head and check if the band of the bra remains in place on your midriff.  If the band rides up your back, the band size is probably too big.  If your breasts are falling out of the bottom of the bra, you should be going down a band size.  Your bra should be fitted snug and tight to your body without cutting or digging in.  You should be able to put one finger under the front band.

Problem:  Straps are digging in

How to check?  Try loosening your straps.  If you notice a great change in how your bust falls forward, your bra is probably too loose and isn’t fitting right.  When straps dig in, this is because they are being forced to hold more weight than they were designed to support.  You need a bra with better design and more support – one that lifts the tissue from underneath the breast, instead of one that pulls the tissue from the shoulder straps above.

Problem:   Insufficient support from the bra

How to check?  Check underneath the breast for rashes, or skin “tags” which can be caused by viruses.  This is often the result of a bra that doesn’t fit properly.  Instead, TAB lifts the bulk of the breast tissue upwards, instead allowing the breast to “sweat” against the abdomen.  Many underwire bras cannot properly lift the tissue located in front of their underwires.  In contrast, the TAB bra has a shelf which restores the natural position of the breast tissue.  This allows lifting support for the entire breast, while absorbing and wicking moisture away.

Problem:  Incorrect cup size

How to check?  With the bra on, examine the sizes of the bra cup.  Is your breast overflowing out of the cup?  If the bra is digging in or the tissue is spilling out of the cup, you probably need a larger cup size.  Many women have different size breasts and the measurement can alter slightly.  Overlfowing cupsUnderwires can dig into the bottom and sides of the breast if the bra is not fitted properly.  This can cause problems for both lymphatic drainage and proper breast health.

STEPS TO A PERFECT FIT ON YOUR TAB BRA

Remember, the TAB Bra is different from others you may have worn.

STEP 1- Place the Tab Bra on and attach the hooks

  • Put the bra on by connecting the hooks where it makes the bra snug (usually the second set of eyes).
  • You should be able to run one finger around under the band of the bra.
  • Some women prefer to put the bra on “backwards” like you would a belt then spin the bra 180 degrees.
  • Place your arms through the shoulder straps.
  • Roughly adjust the shoulder straps.

STEP 2- Position the Breast Tissue - or as we say "load 'em and lock 'em

  • Unfasten and lower the cover from the front of the bra.
  • Reach in the opening and lift the breast tissue from under the rib cage and place the breast tissue in front on the "shelf support".
  • The shelf support will direct and hold the tissue sufficiently if it has been properly sized.
  • Reach through the opening and gently pull the breast  tissue from under your arms into the "directional guide".
  • Bend forward and shake a little to help to place any of the wayward tissue from the back into the front.
  • Do not let the tissue “spill over the shelf”, or bulge out the sides.  If so, go up a cup size.
  • Now that they are loaded, lock them into place.
  • Stand straight and fasten the covering over the front of the breast.
  • Repeat on the other side.

STEP 3- Re-adjust the shoulder straps

  • It may be necessary to re-adjust the shoulder straps.
  • Re-adjust the shoulder straps by sliding the straps until they come to a natural stop.
  • They will gently lift the bust and the shelf.
  • You should be able to run one finger underneath the shoulder strap.
  • Grip the bra under the arm with the thumb and index finger and lift until the shelf comes to a natural stop against your breast tissue.
  • Pull the bottom on the bra down around the torso to ensure it is low in the back and under the shoulder blades.
  • Snuggle the front of the bra upwards to where it comes to a natural stop

Before long, your breast tissue that was under your arms and on your back will fill the bra instead of travelling to the places your bra didn't cover before.

You can order your TAB Custom Fit Bra On-Line

It is preferable that you are measured by a TAB representative.  However, that is not always possible.  We guarantee a perfect fit of The Amazing Bra if you have been properly measured by a Tab representative.

If you do not know your size you may use the following guideline but we cannot guarantee the perfect fit.  Get a friend to help measure you.

Sizing (Band Size):  To determine your band size, lift your arms above your head and measure your midriff snugly (beneath the bust).  Make sure your measuring tape is parallel to the floor and across the small of your back.  Wear T-shirt weight material.

Sizing (Cup Size):  To determine your cup size, take another measurement  at the fullest part of the bust with your arms down by your side. Do not wear a padded bra.  This measurement may vary if you have two different size breasts (this is very common).

Calculate the difference of the two measurements,  and use this list to determine your correct bra size.   For example, if you measure 34 around your midriff and you measure 40 around the fullest size of your breast, you would wear a 34 DD.

Remember, our bras are measured differently than most store-bought bras.

These sizes are estimates and can vary especially if there is alot of breast tissue under the arms or in the back.
